The kids were so excited to go to Hawaii for the first time! First plane ride for June, Lewis, and Ruby.
Day 1 - Honolulu
Aloha!!! We arrived in Honolulu and drove to our Hyatt hotel right on Waikiki Beach! Such an incredible sunset and beautiful night walking by the ocean.
Day 2 - Hanama Bay Snorkeling and Kailua Beach
Kailua Beach- our favorite beach of the trip! Perfect size waves for boogie boarding, shade for naps, and great sand for castles.
Day 3 - Laie, the Oahu Temple, and the PCC
Stopped along the way to admire these incredible waves! They closed several beaches on the north shore for unsafe conditions that day. Amazing to see waves that big!
Grandma Palmer's beloved Laie Elementary. Some grandmas tell of walking uphill in the snow to school, our grandma walked barefoot with the locals to be taught by her favorite teacher Mrs. Kuwahigashi.
Lunch at the infamous Hukilau Cafe - the kids loved the traditional hawaiian fare. And Lewis was appreciative for their nuking his bottle for him;) World's worst eater that boy.
Arden's a natural on the uke and loved the shops with all the beautiful instruments.
Day 4 - Back to Kailua, no pics:(
Day 5 - Pearl Harbor and an evening stroll on Waikiki
Day 6 - Waikiki Beach Day
Day 7 - Makapu'u Point Hike and another Kailua Beach Day
Arden was a sand castle master! She spent hours perfecting her work with whoever would help.
Juby loved trying to surf on the boogie boards.
This boy literally ran himself ragged running in and out of the waves. He was completely fearless in the water which was amazing and scary for all of us, haha! It was so fun to see him so happy and enjoying the incredible views and experience as much as we all were. Thank goodness for shady beach naps with teddy:)
And finally, day 8 - we checked out mid-day, took a last walk on the beach, hit a trampoline park, then caught the red-eye back home through Denver. BRUTAL flight home but we made it and the kids did great. What an incredible week! We feel so lucky to be able to share one of our favorite places with our favorite little people.
...... even if they get home and get completely neglected when nap time rolls around. Guess a boot mat will do:(
