Sweet cousin Abbie came and painted faces for the kids - she was in high demand, as usual:)
Here's the group before the big "first cake experience".
These pictures are the perfect summation of Ruby and June's personalities. Ruby is all or nothing; she digs in to life with two hands and gets messy doin' it. June is skeptical about new things and wants to make sure said new item will be worth her while before she wastes too much time or energy on it. At the end of the day, though, both J & R love them some good treats. And that might be the only genetic trait they share.
My little clowns.
For the journal:
June and Ruby are 100% different and they don't have any idea that they are twins. They don't like the same toys, they aren't learning to say the same words, and they don't even share a room! My parenting philosophy is sort of like this: whatever gets us all the most sleep and the least drama is what we shall do. I am not a big planner or control freak so apparently twins that are night & day different people work for me/us. Its comical watching them interact with one another and I am genuinely grateful every day that they came to our family, even if we do live in Crazytown, USA these days.
June: was not walking by her bday, but she had 4 teeth! She also wasn't talking much but grunts and whines aplenty. She loves most food, especially fruit, pj & j, and she loves her Daddy. She also loves her grandmas, aunts, and older girl cousins. She's not so fond of boys or men - who can blame her hahah! And she's overall pretty shy with new people. She is the better sleeper and more easy going of the two, but she still wants what she wants and will yell if you don't get it to her. She likes to be held all the time and has a thing for little babies. She talks to them in a high voice that is to die for. If June isn't sure about someone, she gives them a dirty look with furrowed eyebrows and a tight lip. Its so funny! She loves seeing Ruby after waking up and she loves snuggling her pink plush blanket.
Ruby: also not walking by her bday, she only has two bottom teeth. She has a few words like dada, mama, and bampa. She loves chicken nuggets and frosted mini wheats and is more of a mommy's girl. She also loves wrestling with Suzy and will go to almost anyone. She is my brave girl and loves to climb and explore the world. She is pickier about food textures but loves to drink her sippy. She is more aggressive and takes June's binky and blanket regularly. She also hits June just for a reaction - its hilarious and kinda sad. She grunts and has the cutest little lip pucker. She is so funny and will definitely give Susan a run for a her money as the family clown. She also loves her plush blanket, its white and she snuggles it endlessly.
We are so thankful these two came to our family - they are absolutely adorable and make our family feel so full of love and fun.
