Summer 2016

We planned a pretty busy summer at home this year, not wanting to drive long distances with a 1 year old who doesn't sleep much in the car. Here are some of the fun things we did:

JUNE
Golf lessons for June, Ruby, and Susan with lots of their neighbor friends. They loved it!

Meanwhile Arden enjoyed a four day sewing camp in American Fork with her Lamb cousins. Thanks to Aunt Lizzie, Sarah, and Suzanne for making this possible and hosting her all week at their rental house. She had an absolute blast and didn't want it to end.

While Liz and Sarah were here, we had a really fun gathering at Matt & Corie's. They have the best backyard, the kids are in heaven there.

We spent several days after that hanging with the cousins that were in town from AZ and Texas.

June 8th our sweet boy turned one! It was an occasion we celebrated with simple cupcakes and re-gifts from the other kids first birthdays, haha. This birthday brings bittersweet feelings knowing how fast that time has flown with our little prince. He is such an incredibly unifying force in our family and brings so much joy into our daily lives. I am amazed by it all really. And he does the cutest things of course, he walks and says Dada and Ball. He cheers for ballgames and smiles for the camera. His curls are to die for. He's a dream.

We did our classic one year old party where we get out the bin of toys we've given all the kids at 1 year old, and put new batteries in everything and they think they've won the lottery. It's awesome.
It was so fun to have mom here for a few weeks to enjoy all these fun activities. We went for a visit to Grandma Stokes in Provo. Always fun to hang with this classy gal.

Sunday evening stroll that resulted in some serious hang time for Lew at the park.

In June we also had a surprise visit from Grandpa Arden and his new fiance, Sandy. He took us to Red Iguana, thanks Gramps! So fun to get caught up with his latest and greatest. Also fun to visit with Martha, a family friend. We love her!

Later in June we did an impromptu camping trip to Lava Hot Springs, it was really fun and we'd definitely repeat this one.

Check out those diving platforms, we are so not the adventurous ones who go off those.

The best moments, no phones or friends, just our people being together.

Back on the homefront, tandom request for a lego photo....had to capture Susan's recording studio build, way to go cutie!
\

Some other rando's - Lewey's first jumphouse, we add water to make it summer friendly.

Getting crafty in his old age...

Love his little shoes and how much he begs to put them on so he can go outside, sighhhh, he's so cute!

JULY
A fun day at the lake on a pontoon boat with Matt and Corie and Nate and Chelsea's families.

All my babies have loved Uncle Nate.
First catch for Ruby!

Catching a fish like a champ, way to go Arden Bea!

Fourth of July camping in Heber with Matt and Corie's and Nate and Chelsea's families.

The Annual 4th of July Oakley Rodeo . . . so much fun! And Lewis, oddly, did awesome to sit through it all. Not a great picture but these cousins are incredible!

Aunt Corie always has the magic touch and the perfect treat for these little ones. They love her!

Cute boy in a hat...

Right after we left the Lamb camping weekend we welcomed the Bryce's from Arizona for another fun week of cousins in town!

We kicked things off with a great night at the drive-inn to see the BFG! The kids had a blast and Jen and I relaxed and chatted, it was awesome.

And new hair for me, it's always nice to "come home" again and be blond.

We love these cousins so much!

Such an adorable little monkey

We've really been trying to implement date nights with the kids, either one 1-1 or 2-1. These two got a night on the courts with Mom and the big girls got to do a fun hike up farmington canyon with Daddy.
They love to adventure together!

July also brought Kids Kamp for June and Ruby. This is something the older girls loved so June and Ruby couldn't wait for their turn to do this fun summer tradition.
Arden took a City sewing class for over a month and made some darling things. She is such a great crafter!

She also took an art class and loved it!

Date night with James Taylor - it was such a fantastic concert! We loved every song and were amazed at how incredible James sounds live and at his age. He's still got it.

Pie Face with best friends...

Activity day Camp for Arden! She had such an amazing time. These leaders always make this day so special, lucky girls! Susan had to miss it because of a soccer tournament in Logan. They were sweet and brought her all the goodies to work on at home.

Another awesome cousin heading out to serve the Lord. We are so excited for Talmage and know he will be an incredible "volunteer" in Russia. Good luck Tal!

We went to a wonderful Bishopric BBQ at our dear friends' the Staplers home. The setting was beautiful and the company was so enjoyable, it was a great evening.
These two have quite a special bond, best buddies and she's his favorite babysitter.

She learned how to blow a bubble! Way to go cute Junie!

Poor Lewey gets tortured with all these mommies. Daddy says he's going to start taking him to work with him to keep him safe from stunts like this one...

Cute friends and neighbors supporting our friend Devanee at her baptism.

AUGUST
I thought I should document the beginning of Arden's orthodontic journey, she started with a big nasty spacer on top and place saving retainer on the bottom. She is such a sweet and loving girl, gonna miss that sweet smile but excited to give her some confidence with straight teeth.

He's seriously unreal, we can't get enough .... if you can't tell.

Silly June!

Last week of freedom before school starts... we enjoyed a great day at the Lone Peak Pond with our besties, the Stott's.

They loved the Stott's paddle board!

First Annual Neighborhood Bike Race, Tour de Florentine was awesome! Thanks to the Tyler's for the great idea!

Saying goodbye to our favorite babysitter, she's off the college! We love you Em!

A fun day at the Rec Center before the outdoor pools close for the season.

Arden did another play this summer... Cinderella. She was a villager and a ball guest and did a great job!
She enjoyed doing the play with her best buddy Abbie. They both did awesome!
Her faithful supporters:)

Susan learning how to wakeboard on the new Level Nine boat, such a great day.

..... moments before he fell asleep mid-lick, double fisting em, heehee

And a night at Farmington Station enjoying these beautiful summer nights. Susan was at a birthday party/BYU soccer game in Provo.
