Christmas 2007

This was our first Christmas in our own home and in Utah - and it turned out to be really special and relaxing. I'm so grateful we were able to start some of our own traditions and watch Arden experience "the magic" at home. Plus we had a beautiful "White Christmas" just like in the movies - it was soooo pretty! It turned out to be a great holiday season! Here are some of the highlights:

Thanks to Grandma Susan and Aunt Liz, Arden had a beautiful Christmas dress to wear on Sunday. She thought she was a princess - it was adorable!

Christmas Eve Arden opened the traditional Christmas p.j.'s - but she kept saying "Arden, no-no!" while she was ripping the paper. She was waiting to get in trouble like she would if she ripped paper in a book or something. It was so funny!

Her jammies say "I love candy!" and this couldn't be more true - she literally asks for candy for every meal of the day.
Arden does not quite get the Santa thing yet, but whatever happened, she just knew it was a really good day.
It was so cute to watch her eyes with every package she opened - sheer joy! We had to take a break about half way through so she could play with some of the presents she opened. She didn't understand why we had to keep opening when all this fun stuff was already open.
This is my latest favorite Arden-ism: "The Shimmy." She seriously just does this all the time - esp. when she's about to get something she really wants or is excited about something.

Mitch got Arden a trunk of princess dress-ups. I was worried she might be too young for this stuff, but I'm starting to think she was born a diva.

So hilarious!

And what made it really feel like Christmas were the family gatherings! We're so thankful to Scott & Suzanne, Steve & Ali, and Rob & Lisa for having us over for food, fun, and holiday cheer. We had such a great time seeing everyone and eating all the yummy food. Here are all the pics:
